Heimatmuseum Ingersleben
Local history museum in the restored Renaissance manor house of the Rittergut Ingersleben with a black kitchen, a woad exhibition, and a textile exhibition.
Over het museum
The museum is housed in the manor house of the former Rittergut Ingersleben. In 1602, Hans von Ziegler, scion of an Erfurt woad-trading family, bought the estate; the Renaissance portal and the archway bear the year 1622. For centuries, mostly noble estate owners lived here.
The manor house was carefully restored and can now be toured from the cellar to the attic. Many rooms still show their original painted decoration, such as the "Große Diele" with accompanying-line painting. Particularly worth seeing are the "Schwarze Küche" (black kitchen) from around 1700 and the so-called Münchhausen Room.
The exhibition is devoted to rare textiles, Thuringian woad – the dye plant that shaped the region for centuries – and the history of Neudietendorf and the surrounding villages. The museum is run by the municipality of Nesse-Apfelstädt.
