HeimatPunkt Herdecke
Small exhibition by the local history association on Herdecke's town history with photos, documents and finds, plus a library and shop.
Over het museum
The HeimatPunkt in Herdecke's old town is the successor to the Herdecker Heimatstube, which the Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Herdecke (local history and tourism association) set up in the early 1990s to bring the history of the town on the Ruhr to life. Today it is housed on Hauptstraße and is looked after by the association on a volunteer basis.
On display are testimonies from Herdecke's past and present: old black-and-white photographs and pictures, medals, the town's Golden Book, ration cards from wartime and the postwar period, and memorabilia from former Herdecke companies. The HeimatPunkt also includes a small library with writings and documents on the town's history.
The association continues to collect objects and papers from and about Herdecke. In addition to the exhibition, the HeimatPunkt offers souvenirs and regional products and serves as a contact point for the local history association's city tours, hikes and publications, such as the "Herdecker Blätter".

By car via the A1 (exit Hagen-West) or the A45 (exit Dortmund-Süd), in each case continuing via the B54 to Herdecke.
