Over het museum

The impetus came from Einbeck collector Karl-Heinz Rehkopf, who over decades assembled one of the largest collections of German production motorcycles. To put it on public display, a nonprofit foundation was set up, initially called Kulturstiftung Kornhaus and renamed Stiftung PS.Speicher in December 2020. A grain warehouse from the late 19th century at the Tiedexer Tor gate was chosen as the main building; it was restored and converted from 2012 to 2014. The interactive exhibition opened there on July 23, 2014.

Across six floors, with more than 450 exhibits, around 90 hands-on stations, everyday scenes and films, it tells more than 200 years of mobility history, from the draisine to the present day. The tour starts at the very top and leads floor by floor back down to the foyer. Further exhibition venues developed around the main building in the town: the motorcycle collection moved into the listed former Vereta wallpaper factory, a microcar collection with roots in the former Automuseum Störy was added, and in June 2016 a depot for historic trucks, buses and construction machinery opened in the Otto-Hahn-Park, expanded in 2020 to include Lanz Bulldog tractors.

Since 2023, the Schatzkammer (Treasure Chamber) in the motorcycle collection building has displayed privately owned luxury vehicles from brands such as Horch, Maybach and Mercedes-Benz, though only on guided tours. In November 2025 the interactive model vehicle collection was added in the main building. With around 2,500 historic vehicles in total across several sites, PS.Speicher is one of the largest vehicle museums in Europe. Event halls, a restaurant and an adjoining hotel also make the site a venue for conferences and events.

• Erlebnisausstellung – In the historic grain warehouse, a tour across six floors leads through more than 200 years of mobility, with staged everyday scenes, films and around 90 stations to try out.
• Sammlung MOTORRAD – The former Vereta wallpaper factory houses more than 800 motorcycles from the early days to the 1990s, including scooters, sidecar combinations and international machines of the 1970s.
• Sammlung MODELLFAHRZEUGE – Since November 2025, ten themed rooms in the main building have displayed thousands of miniature vehicles with dioramas, a five-meter-high collection tower and hands-on stations.

Prices as per online booking; single tickets for the interactive exhibition (incl. app experience tour) €23, reduced €19; online is sometimes cheaper than on site. Annual pass for all sites except the Treasure Chamber available at the ticket desk. Parking at the main building €5 per 24 hours, €1 for museum visitors after license plate validation in the foyer.

Interactive exhibition incl. restrooms accessible, all floors reachable by a large elevator; restaurant, cloakroom and lockers via a separate lift. Four accessible parking spaces, two free loaner wheelchairs (advance notice appreciated), counters at different heights, portable folding stools. The collections are generally accessible, though visiting with a companion is recommended. The Porsche simulator is not accessible.
