About the museum
The Arsenal stands in the former Saint-Jean-des-Vignes abbey in Soissons. The building dates from the 19th century and offers very large spaces.
Since 1995, these spaces have housed a museum and temporary exhibitions devoted to contemporary art. The city’s collections include almost 400 catalogued works and form one of the main contemporary art holdings in the Hauts-de-France region.
The Arsenal belongs to the museums of the City of Soissons, which also include the Musée d'art et d'histoire Saint-Léger and the Centre de conservation et d'études archéologiques. The latter is located at the same address.
