About the museum
The Clos des Metz is a former 18th-century farm in Jouy-en-Josas. Jeanne Blum acquired it in 1937 to offer a pleasant home to her sons. Léon Blum lived there from 1945 to 1950, after the war, and the house remained as Jeanne Blum had left it at her death in 1982.
The house is listed as a historic monument and became a museum in 1986. In 2012 it received the “Maisons des Illustres” label from the Ministry of Culture. Since 2017, a new permanent exhibition space welcomes visitors and groups.
The visit begins with the exhibition on the life and career of Léon Blum, then crosses the garden to reach the house, with its living rooms, bedrooms and the large study-library.
