About the museum
The museum presents a collection of more than 150 vehicles that traces two centuries of firefighting history. According to the Saint-Étienne tourist office, it is the only museum to publicly display such a large collection of vehicles and firefighting equipment from different eras.
The route traces the technical progress and the adventures of the firefighters. Models show firefighting operations. Visitors also see how equipment has developed since the 19th century, for example the helmets and the various hoses used to put out fires.
