About the museum
The Alte Dorfmühle in Monzelfeld is an electric mill that is still fully operational today. Run as a community mill, every farmer in the village had a fixed appointment for grinding; mill books and mill slips document the grinding rights of the individual farms.
Today the building houses the local heritage collection of the village municipality. Visitors can follow the individual steps of flour milling. The small museum also tells village history, shows flax growing and the production and processing of linen, and rounds this off with Roman finds from the surroundings.
