Paintings, drawings and printmaking by Ondine Frochaux: woodcuts and paintings with enigmatic, dreamlike motifs in a reduced palette of colours.
Shortly after reunification, in 1990 the then Bitterfeld district opened a gallery for contemporary visual art in the building at Ratswall 22, which became known as the "Galerie am Ratswall". The building had been constructed in 1925 as a warehouse for a Bitterfeld coffee merchant. Alongside exhibitions – including prints by Joseph Beuys, Robert Rauschenberg and A. R. Penck – gallery concerts, readings and art talks were part of the programme from the start.
From 2019 to 2023, the building ensemble at Ratswall 22/Grünstraße underwent extensive renovation with EU funding. This was based on an expanded concept that more closely links music, art and the relationship between culture and nature. When it reopened in September 2023, the building was given the name "Musik-Galerie an der Goitzsche".
Today the gallery shows changing exhibitions of contemporary art and engages with the "Bitterfelder Weg" (Bitterfeld Way), the GDR cultural programme that began in Bitterfeld in 1959. A permanent exhibition documents the landscape artworks created around Lake Goitzsche since EXPO 2000, and another in the entrance area presents the history of the building. In addition there are gallery concerts, readings, workshops and programmes for daycare groups.
