About the museum
The Heimatstube is located in a thatched log house typical of the Spreewald, at the Spreehafen harbour in Burg. It is run by the Amt Burg (Spreewald) administration.
The small permanent exhibition shows glimpses of the past and present life of the local people: housekeeping and farming, traditional crafts, and Sorbian/Wendish costumes and customs. It also tells the life stories of well-known personalities from Burg.
The Heimatstubenfest (local history room festival) takes place at the Spreehafen in September.
