About the museum
The Kunsthaus Leer is an institution of the Leer district. It collects and preserves estates and collections of artists from East Frisia and focuses on works created in the region or on East Frisian subjects. The work is supported by the cultural foundation of Sparkasse LeerWittmund.
The holdings include paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, sculptures and personal papers. Around 3,600 works and archive items have been digitally recorded, including the estates of Anna-Liese Langeheine, Gerd Rokahr and Bernhard Grotzeck, as well as the collection of the Graphische Gesellschaft Leer.
