Teeling Whiskey Distillery

Working whiskey distillery in the Liberties, opened in 2015, visited on guided tours that end with a tasting.

Opening hoursAdmission €22 Wheelchair accessible Café

About the museum

Teeling Whiskey Distillery stands in the Liberties, the historic distilling district of Dublin, a short distance from the site of the family's earlier distillery on Marrowbone Lane, which the Teeling family says was founded in 1782. The present distillery opened in 2015 and is described by its owners as the first new distillery in Dublin for more than 125 years.

It is a fully working distillery, and the guided tour follows the whole whiskey-making process from milling and mashing through to the maturation of the whiskey. Each tour ends with a tasting, and the choice of tastings ranges from a single whiskey with a cocktail to a small group experience with rare distillery-exclusive bottlings. A non-alcoholic option is available on the shortest tasting.

The building also holds an exhibition space used for events, the Bang Bang Bar on the first floor with a rooftop terrace, a gift shop and the Phoenix Café on the ground floor. The distillery has won awards for its visitor experience and for its sustainability measures, which include rainwater harvesting and reusing excess process energy to heat the visitor centre.
