About the museum
The Feyenoord Museum tells the story of the Rotterdam football club and its stadium, nicknamed De Kuip. Until summer 2015 it was housed in the stadium's Maasgebouw. After this area was rebuilt, there was no club museum for around a year and a half, until a new one opened on 18 January 2017.
The renewed museum is located on the listed Olympic side of De Kuip, in the stadium's former main building. The tour is a journey through time from the first national league title in 1924 to the most recent championship in 2017. It begins at Kromme Zandweg, the club's former home ground, and leads to the great nights in today's stadium, including winning the European Champion Clubs' Cup in 1970 and the UEFA Cup triumph in front of the home crowd.
On display are important trophies from the club's history, memorabilia and a detailed timeline. The people who shaped the club also have their place, such as Willem van Hanegem and Coen Moulijn; a statue of Moulijn stands near the entrance. Visitors can put together their own Feyenoord star eleven and watch rare film footage.
The museum is not a freely accessible venue: a visit is an integral part of the guided tours of De Kuip organised by the stadium company Stadion Feijenoord N.V. The route leads into the museum through the old players' tunnel.
