About the museum
The Heksehoeve is an old farmhouse on the edge of Appelscha, where Margarita, who has considered herself a traditional solitary witch since 1968, opened a tea room with a “magical shop” in 1996. Two years later, in 1998, the offering was expanded and developed into a witch museum.
Today the museum is an open-air “magical adventure park” of about one hectare. Visitors follow a trail through a garden where they can try out 28 rituals and activities; for children there is a dedicated scent-detective rally with a small surprise at the end, and a children's garden with magical games. Highlights include the daily dowsing rod walk and the shared wishing ritual at the fire pit.
In the tea room you can enjoy herbal and witch teas, coffee and small snacks. Alongside the museum, the house offers consultations and a multi-month “witch training” that starts anew in 2027. The museum used to be open only during school holidays; in 2026 additional opening days were added.
