About the museum

Armourgeddon Military Museum is an independent museum at Southfields Farm near Husbands Bosworth in Leicestershire. Its collection has grown considerably since the museum was set up and now includes some 60 tanks and military vehicles, together with small arms, cannons and other military machinery from the First World War, the Second World War and the Cold War.

Vehicles are displayed indoors and outdoors. Highlights include a Russian T-55, an American M3 Lee, a Sherman tank and a 1947 Bell 47G helicopter, and some of the vehicles have appeared in films and television series such as Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. An exhibit called the Inner Sanctum is made up of personal artefacts donated by families and tells of the human experience of the World Wars.

The site also runs tank driving and other vehicle experiences, and the tanks are often seen on manoeuvres at weekends and on selected Wednesdays, which visitors can watch from the Normandy Café and the outdoor viewing area.
