About the museum
The Bo'ness Motor Museum was started by Colin Anderson, who decided to show his own cars and his growing collection of James Bond memorabilia after a plan for a second museum in Bo'ness with a Lake District museum came to nothing. After renovation of the building it was officially opened at Easter 2004 by Caroline Munro and Shane Rimmer, two of the stars of the Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me.
The collection has a revolving display of classic cars together with cars, props and posters from film and television. Its Bond theme reflects the founder's enthusiasm, and the Bond exhibition is permanent. Period signs and other memorabilia are shown alongside the vehicles.
Among the cars are the Jaguar XJ6 Series III used in the film The 51st State and a rare 1976 Lotus Esprit S1 that was used as a road car in The Spy Who Loved Me. The museum is run as a Scottish charity and is non-smoking.
