About the museum
Brooks Collectables is a family business in Blackpool that dates back to 1949. It has traded from 7 Waterloo Road, just off the promenade in the South Shore area, since 1998, and is now run by the next generation of the family.
The first floor is given over to a museum of memorabilia assembled by the family over many years. Thousands of items were on show when it was set up, and because only part of the collection can be displayed at once, the exhibits change from time to time.
The displays are built around toys and models, from diecast vehicles and working train and tram sets to vintage soldiers, antique dolls’ houses and models of Blackpool landmarks. Film and television collectables such as Star Wars, James Bond and Gerry Anderson items are also shown, together with Blackpool heritage displays.
