About the museum
The Marvellous Barbershop Museum is part of the headquarters of Captain Fawcett, a grooming brand based in King's Lynn. It opened in March 2019 and shows a collection of barbering history from about four centuries.
The collection includes period scenes, antique barber chairs, cabinets of elixirs and tonsorial antiques, as well as a collection of mugs. The museum is on the mezzanine level of a working building, so visitors see the collection alongside the everyday life of the company.
Visits are by advance booking. Private visits, special occasions, cream teas and tours with a guide can be arranged by appointment. A free virtual version of the museum can be explored online at any time.
