About the museum
The Charlton Athletic Museum opened in December 2014 at the club's ground, The Valley in south-east London. It is a self-funded initiative run by volunteers and trustees, with the aim of preserving and presenting the history of the football club.
The museum is in the Covered End, also called the North Stand, and is entered from Harvey Gardens, to the left of the large club badge. Its collection covers the club from its foundation in 1905 up to the present day.
Among the objects are medals from the 1946/47 FA Cup-winning season and items from the 1998 Division One play-off final at Wembley, including the boots, kit and medal of Clive Mendonca and the match ball. A large display on the campaign to return to The Valley records the fans' fight to bring the club back to its home ground.
