About the museum
The museum is part of the yard of L Grandison & Son, a family plastering firm in Peebles. It presents the workshop as a museum of ornamental plasterwork, showing fine plaster ornament from more than a century of the firm's work and the methods used to make it.
The collection centres on a large number of plaster patterns, the master models from which moulds are made, together with displays of the main casting methods used for ornamental plasterwork in Scotland. Because the firm is still working, visitors may sometimes see the craft being practised in the workshop.
The museum lies on Innerleithen Road in Peebles, opposite the Park Hotel.
