About the museum
The Peter Scott Gallery belongs to Lancaster Arts at Lancaster University and sits in the Great Hall Complex on the campus, alongside the Nuffield Theatre and the Great Hall.
The gallery presents a programme of changing temporary exhibitions with related talks. It also looks after the university's art collection, which includes Japanese and Chinese art, antiquities, twentieth-century British works and European prints; this collection is not on permanent display, but pieces appear in exhibitions each year and visits can be arranged by appointment.
The John Chambers Ceramics Room shows the university's collection of Royal Lancastrian pottery, described by the gallery as the most significant collection of its kind in Britain.
