About the museum
Smethwick Heritage Centre opened in 2004 in Victoria Park Lodge on High Street to house artefacts and memorabilia from Smethwick and the surrounding part of Sandwell. It is run by the Smethwick Heritage Centre Trust as both a museum and a community hub.
The centre holds exhibitions and displays about the history of the town and its people, and it also takes roadshows to local venues. It promotes Smethwick and serves the wider community of Sandwell, and its changing exhibitions have often been tied to local communities and events.
