About the museum

Twist Museum is an immersive museum of illusions at 248 Oxford Street, next to Oxford Circus station. It describes itself as an interactive place where perception is challenged, and it is designed for visitors of all ages.

The more than 80 exhibits are all on one level and range from small hands-on illusions that visitors can examine up close to large installations they can step into. Together they explore how people experience colour, perspective, shape, sound and heat. Photography and filming are encouraged, because many exhibits are built to produce striking pictures.

The museum offers timed-entry tickets, guided tours as an add-on, school programmes with a free teacher pre-visit, group bookings and private event hire. An auditorium with seating is used for special events. Access is step-free with lift access, and ear defenders can be borrowed.
