Over het museum

The museum is run by the association Espaces Aéro Lyon Corbas (EALC), founded in 2003 to preserve France's aeronautical heritage and make its culture known. All of its members are volunteers. The museum opened in December 2012, and its official inauguration took place in March 2013.

It is located at Corbas airfield, in buildings that once housed the 5th Light Helicopter Group of the army's light aviation. Volunteers restore the aircraft themselves, a high-quality work that has been recognised with awards.

The collection brings together several dozen aircraft, engines and items of equipment from French aviation from 1908 to the present day. Notable exhibits include Mirage IV P No. 28, listed as a historic monument, a Spitfire Mk IX, a test section of the Concorde, several Mirage IIIs, a Super Mystère B2, a Mystère IV A and an Alphajet. A model area brings together about 600 scale models and dioramas, and an engine area presents some forty engines.

The museum's website indicates access for people with disabilities; the Lyon tourist office describes it as accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Animals are not admitted, except guide dogs.

Birthday parties are organised in the afternoon, with a reserved meeting room, a dedicated guide and the possibility of sitting at the controls of a fighter jet. Reduced rate for children from age 8, free admission under 8.

Bereikbaarheid & parkeren

By car: from central Lyon, take exit 11 “Corbas Les Taillis” on the A7, then the D301; from the east or south, take exit 15 of the A46 and follow the “aérodrome de Corbas” signs to the leisure park.

Meeting room for 50 seated guests, equipped for video projection. For events, up to 1,000 m² indoors and 5,000 m² of uncovered outdoor space. Seated or standing meals with the museum's caterer or your own; a dinner with exclusive use is possible only in the evening or on closing days (Mondays and Tuesdays). Photo shoots and filming are possible in the indoor spaces with the aircraft.
