Over het museum
The Hanácké muzeum v přírodě in Příkazy originated from an idea of ethnographer Jan Rudolf Bečák, who in the 1970s proposed setting up a folk museum in a Haná village. In 1986 the regional heritage conservation centre acquired the farmstead of the Kameníček family, where the first exhibition was created, and in April 1990 the museum opened to the public as the Hanácký skanzen.
The core of the site is the Kameníčkův grunt, house no. 54, a typical Haná farmstead with residential and farm buildings from 1876. The farmstead is documented as early as the 16th century; the Kameníček family owned it from 1847 to 1985, and in 1958 it was declared a cultural monument. Špaletové stodoly (spalet barns) with brick walls, in which agricultural machines and tools are displayed, also survive in the village.
In 2018 the museum passed from the National Heritage Institute to the Národní muzeum v přírodě (National Open-Air Museum). In 2022 Vinklárka's log barn, moved from Skalička near Hranice, opened to visitors. The museum is a living one: it keeps livestock and, during programmes, demonstrates traditional farm work and crafts.
