Over het museum

The museum is a light fortification of model 37 (řopík) by the Splav homestead near Branná. It belongs to the pre-war line of Czechoslovak fortifications in sector IX Kolštejn, which was meant to protect the northern border of the state in the second half of the 1930s.

The structure was restored by the Klub vojenské historie Olomouc LO-37, a civic association founded in 2006. The club's aim is to return bunkers to the state they were in during general mobilisation in September 1938, to open them to the public and to introduce interested people to the history of the fortifications. The pillbox is therefore equipped with period equipment, and visitors are guided by a club member in the uniform and equipment of a private of the Czechoslovak army.

The club also manages the neighbouring infantry shelter StM-S 50, which belongs to the heavy fortifications. On request, visitors can also see this shelter and shelter StM-S 32.

Bereikbaarheid & parkeren

The structure stands by the Splav homestead on the Pasák nature trail and on the green hiking route from Branná to Ostružná; the bunker is reached on foot.
