Over het museum

Kelly House has been the home of the Kelly family for more than 900 years. It stands in the Tamar Valley on the Devon and Cornwall border, just south of the A30, next to the parish church.

The house grew from a medieval hall and was extended in the 16th and 17th centuries. Its oldest part is Tudor, with a tea room that has Jacobean panelling and a large open fire. A Georgian block was added in 1742, and the house also has a Victorian games room.

The family still lives in the house and has restored parts of it, including a set of bed and breakfast rooms and the tea room. Visitors can see the house on private group tours, on longer Invitation to View tours that include rooms not normally open to the public and on a garden tour, with tea and cake served in the Tea Room afterwards. The house also holds occasional events, and the church and grounds are open for visitors to look around.
