Om museet
Since the 1980s, the Musée Daubigny has been housed in the Manoir des Colombières, in the heart of Auvers-sur-Oise, opposite the Auberge Ravoux where Vincent van Gogh spent his last days. The manor dates from 1626 and had several owners before the Depoin family gave it its current name at the start of the 19th century. The town bought the estate in 1930 and built a school there; in 1986 the tourist office and a first museum devoted to Daubigny moved in.
The museum became municipal in 2012. In 2015, the town decided to expand it: after the tourist office moved out, the permanent collection devoted to Charles-François Daubigny occupies the first floor of the manor, and the second floor is reserved for temporary exhibitions.
The collection brings together some hundred works by Daubigny (prints, paintings, drawings, engraved plates and cliché-verre), of which about thirty, along with pieces by his son Karl, are on permanent display. Also included are a collection of feline art from a donation by collectors, a collection of naive art built up since the museum's founding, and contemporary artworks.
From October 11, 2025, the museum closes for two years for extension works on the manor and presents a selection of its finest works on Daubigny and his students at the Maison de l'Isle, rue Marcel Martin.
