Om museet
The Théâtre des Capucines was built at the end of the 19th century. This small hall with about 200 seats was run by the Isola brothers and at first welcomed artists such as Arletty, Sacha Guitry, Serge Gainsbourg and Barbara. The hall closed in 1973 and remained unused for some twenty years.
The perfume house Fragonard saved the site and opened a museum there in 1993. The museum closed during the health crisis of 2020. For the company’s centenary, it reopened on 4 May 2026 under the name Théâtre du Parfum, after a renovation entrusted to the Ateliers Saint Lazare, which kept original decorative elements: the stage, the red carpet and the curtain.
The chronological route presents objects from the Fragonard collection, from ancient Egypt to the 21st century. It also highlights the contrast between Grasse, the city of production, and Paris, the capital of luxury.
