Om museet
The museum occupies the house and studio in which the painter José Benlliure, a contemporary of Joaquín Sorolla, lived from 1912. It recreates the domestic setting of one of the most important artistic families of Valencia at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
Works by Benlliure himself, by other members of the family and by related artists are preserved, along with the rooms of the house. Among them the 19th-century studio stands out, where the painter worked on many of his paintings, as do several salons decorated with antique furniture from Austria and Italy.
The main building has three floors, with the reception, the residence and several exhibition rooms. In the garden, in the Valencian romantic style, there is a two-storey pavilion with an audiovisual room and the studio, and busts of the painter and other members of his family are on display. The museum also programmes temporary exhibitions.

The entrance door is double, opens inwards and has a clear passage of 100 cm, with a 4 cm step. The main building has three floors and the garden pavilion two; both are connected by stairs and a lift. The corridors are more than 120 cm wide and the floor is smooth and non-slip. The garden entrance has a ramp.
