Casa Museo de las Cofradías

The Casa Museo de las Cofradías opened in 2012 in the historic centre of Puerto Lumbreras, next to the Casa de los Duendes and close to the parish church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, within the Medina Nogalte heritage complex. The building covers some 1,200 m² spread over a basement, ground floor and two upper floors, and also serves as the headquarters of the town's brotherhoods.

The exhibition brings together some of the thrones and images that are carried in the Holy Week processions of Puerto Lumbreras, antique objects related to the celebration, a selection of robes and banners, and the announcement posters of the last twenty years. In the basement are displayed the holdings of the Cofradía del Santísimo Cristo de la Fe y María Santísima de la Piedad; on the floor above, those of the brotherhoods of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno and the Virgen de los Dolores. The top floor houses offices, a multi-purpose room and the documentary archive of Holy Week, which are not part of the exhibition route.
