Om museet

The museum is in Cayés, in the municipality of Llanera, within a complex that also houses an international-licence karting circuit and other sports facilities. The complex was the project of the Asturian driver Fernando Alonso, who inaugurated the track in March 2011 in front of some 4,000 fans.

The museum building has two floors and around 1,200 m² of exhibition space. It displays some 400 pieces from the driver's personal collection: from the first kart he drove as a child to single-seaters from the promotional formulae and Formula 1, as well as competition cars from the World Endurance Championship, trophies, helmets and racing suits.

The karting circuit, homologated for international competition, has hosted European-level events and complements the complex's offer alongside indoor karting, a souvenir shop and event spaces. The museum visit can be accompanied by an audio guide narrated by Fernando Alonso himself.

Gift tickets are bought online, are valid for three months from the date of purchase and can be redeemed for one day without booking a time slot. The shop is open access and does not require a museum ticket.

The museum is adapted for people with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users and pushchairs; a lift links the two floors. Wheelchairs are lent with at least 24 hours' prior notice. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are admitted with the appropriate documentation.

The museum's merchandise shop, which also sells tickets, opens from 10:00 to 18:30 and does not require a museum ticket. Pets are admitted if carried in arms, in a carrier, in a pushchair or in a backpack.
