Om museet
The infantry blockhouse T-S 5 “U křížku” was built in 1937 as part of the Czechoslovak border fortifications against Nazi Germany. The concrete was poured in September 1937, and the structure was the first in the Trutnov section of the heavy fortifications. It stands on the right flank of the planned artillery fortress Jírova hora and belongs to the structures of resistance grade II.
Before the Munich Agreement in 1938, the blockhouse was largely fitted with technical equipment and weapons. During the war it lost four firing embrasures and two armoured cupolas. It has been under restoration since 1999.
The interior is gradually being extended with exhibitions on the Czechoslovak fortifications, the army and the fates of airmen and aircraft in the Second World War, in memory of the defenders of the border.

Parking is limited; it is available at the inn in Zbečník.
From Zbečník a stony uphill path leads to the blockhouse (about 400 m) from the spot opposite the school. From Hronov you can walk along the green hiking trail towards Červený Kostelec (about 1 km).
