Om museet

The Altstadt-Kult fan club was formed in 1990 in the circle around SpVgg Bayreuth. In 2001 the fans opened their first museum for the club's memorabilia in one and a half rooms near the stadium. Because space soon ran out, the collection moved to the Markgrafenhallen in 2003; the city of Bayreuth then listed the venue as its 21st museum in its museum guide. In 2006 the fans founded the registered association Altstadt-Kult Museum e.V.

After the lease at the Markgrafenhallen was not renewed in 2016, the fans moved into a former restaurant on Erlanger Straße. They renovated it themselves and opened the new museum in July 2017 for the 2017/2018 season.

On display are jerseys, pennants, mugs, stadium programs and other keepsakes from the club's history. These include memories of the 1950s legends and the club crest's changes over time. The house is also a meeting point for fans before and after games.
