Om museet
The building "Uraalt Scholl" ("Uralte Schule," meaning "old school") was built in 1830 as the first proper school building of Mützenich, which was then an independent Eifel municipality. It served as a single-classroom school until around 1925.
Since 1998, the Heimatverein Mützenich (local heritage association) has run a village museum on the second floor. It features rustically furnished rooms with antique furniture and stuffed animals, farm and household tools, agricultural equipment, and photographs and historical pictures from the village and its surroundings. The association also looks after local history, dialect, and customs.
