Om museet
The Kreisgalerie was set up in 1985 in the former school building in Dahn. Its foundation consists of endowments from Dr. Emil Knöringer and Wilhelm Ludwig Schindler, as well as the collection of the painter Ludwig Petzinger, which is on permanent display.
The gallery is run by the district of Südwestpfalz. It shows regional and national artists in rotating exhibitions and sees itself as a place of encounter; in 2025 it celebrated its 40th anniversary.
