Mineralogisch-Geologische Sammlung im Rathaus Schwarzenfeld

Om museet

The collection is housed in the town hall of Schwarzenfeld and focuses on minerals and rocks from the nearby Wölsendorf fluorspar district. Fluorspar was mined there in the 19th and 20th centuries, which shaped the history of the region considerably.

One of the special features is Wölsendorfit, a mineral represented in mineralogical collections worldwide. Alongside its own specimens, the collection displays significant loans from the Mineralogische Staatssammlung München.
