Om museet
The Stalag-Neustadt-Museum of the town of Moosburg tells how a prisoner-of-war camp became a district. It covers three periods: the Stalag VII A prisoner-of-war camp from 1939 to 1945, the American internment camp of the postwar years until 1948, and the refugee settlement and its development into today's district of Neustadt.
The museum sees itself as a place of remembrance. Photographs, explanatory texts, and original objects document daily life in the camp and the new beginning afterward. It is located near the Haus der Heimat. Further places of memory related to the camp, such as the Stalag memorial square with the Franzosenbrunnen and information panels at the former camp entrance, are freely accessible in the town area.
