About the museum
The Musée liégeois du Luminaire, called MULUM, opened its doors in October 2012 at the foot of the slopes of the Liège citadel. It owes its existence to the donation of part of its collection by the collector Philippe Deitz to the City of Liège, which runs the museum.
The route is chronological: it follows the evolution of lighting devices used around the world from prehistory to the 21st century, and explains the techniques that succeeded one another, from candles and oil lamps to electric lighting. The museum is also appreciated by prop masters in the film world.
