About the museum
The Treinmuseum in Heist-op-den-Berg shows the scale model collection of Pieter Nombluez. More than 2,500 models tell the history of public transport, from the mail coach via steam trains to the TGV.
The emphasis is on steam locomotives and the most famous trains of that period. You can see royal and imperial trains there, but also the Orient Express, the Mistral and the Big Boy. With the audio guide you discover the story behind the trains.
On the upper floor you sit in a film room furnished as a train carriage. A film runs there about the social significance of the train throughout history.
