About the museum

The Chocolate Museum in Prague was opened in 2018 by the Czech-Belgian family company Chocotopia. It now operates under the Choco-Story brand, which brings together chocolate museums in several countries, and is located on Celetná Street in the Old Town of Prague. It is a private thematic museum whose presentation is intended for the general public, including children and school groups.

The tour leads through seven rooms that trace the story of cacao, from the ancient civilisations to the modern production of Belgian chocolate. Visitors see authentic objects, wax figures and interactive elements, and can use an audio guide in several languages. The tour is self-guided and takes about half an hour to three quarters of an hour.

At the end, visitors can taste up to five kinds of chocolate. Through a production window one can watch sweets being made on site. For an extra charge, a workshop led by chocolatiers can be booked, where participants make chocolate bars or pralines themselves. The building also houses a shop with chocolate gifts and Prague souvenirs and a café; both are accessible without a museum ticket.
