About the museum
The Hall of Fame of Czech Ice Hockey was established on 4 November 2008, when the first forty-one personalities were inducted during the celebrations of the centenary of Czech ice hockey. It is run by the Czech Ice Hockey Association, which each year inducts further players, coaches and other personalities who have contributed to the development of the sport.
The physical exhibition opened in 2015, ahead of the ice hockey world championship, in the Galerie Harfa in Prague, and operated there until 29 May 2023. A year later, on 7 May 2024, the Hall of Fame reopened in new premises on Nekázanka Street in the centre of Prague. The new exhibition is smaller than the original and offers more multimedia.
The exhibition brings together significant hockey artefacts such as jerseys, sticks, gloves and trophies, accompanied by films and interviews made for this exhibition. A special section is devoted to the 2024 world championship gold in Prague and Ostrava, including the winner’s trophy. Visitors can also try touch-screen quizzes and hockey jigsaw puzzles.
Part of the project is also a digital Hall of Fame online, where you will find the profiles of individual members, their most memorable moments and the artefacts on display.
