About the museum
Ailes Anciennes Toulouse is an association founded in February 1980 to preserve aviation heritage. It began at a site in Colomiers made available by the Chamber of Commerce, and its first aircraft, a Nord 1100 Noralpha, arrived in June 1981. The expansion of Airbus forced it to move twice: to Saint-Martin-du-Touch in 2010, then to Blagnac in October 2012.
The Aeroscopia museum opened nearby in January 2015 with some of the association’s aircraft, and a restoration hangar followed at the end of the same year. The Blagnac site covers about 15,000 m² and displays some fifty aircraft outdoors. It also includes a 1,500 m² restoration hangar with a technical library.
The collection includes aircraft, helicopters, gliders, microlights and a range of items such as engines, instrument panels, ejection seats and missiles. Highlights include the MiG-21, the Topaze rocket and the Airbus E-Fan.
