About the museum
The Exploradôme is a museum of science, digital technology and society. It is run by the association Savoir Apprendre, founded in 1997 by physicist Goéry Delacôte, who specialised in science education through experimentation. The museum opened in 1998 in Vitry-sur-Seine, in the Val-de-Marne département.
Its mission is to make science accessible to everyone, especially young people and audiences far from cultural institutions. The approach is hands-on: visitors touch, test and compare rather than look at display cases.
The permanent exhibition covers just over 300 m² and brings together more than 50 experiments in five themes: energy, climate and weather, optical illusions, structures and forms, and movement. Facilitators guide visitors, and workshops, temporary exhibitions and a school-holiday programme complete the offer. The museum also runs visits for school groups and training for teachers.
