About the museum
The museum occupies the former Cordeliers convent in the historic center of Tarascon, near rue des Halles. It opened in June 2016 with the aim of enhancing the old heart of the town and giving Tarascon a place in the region's cultural offering.
The route explores the great figures who populate the town's imagination, combining historical, ethnographic and artistic approaches. The permanent spaces are organized around the Gallery of the Legendary Tarasque, the Course de la Tarasque and Tartarin's Cabinet of Curiosities. The cloister hosts temporary exhibitions on a variety of themes, from history to contemporary art, fashion, painting or photography.
