About the museum
The Musée des Verts opened on December 20, 2013 in the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne. It was the first museum devoted to a French football club. It is run by the association ASSE-Musée des Verts and tells the story of AS Saint-Étienne from its origins to its greatest achievements.
The route covers 800 m² and consists of eleven thematic areas. It brings together nearly a thousand objects, testimonies, reports, photographs, around fifty shirts and nineteen major trophies. Eight interactive games complement the visit, which is recommended to last about one hour.
The museum also offers a guided tour of the stadium, combined with museum admission: visitors discover behind-the-scenes areas of the Chaudron, such as the courtyard of honour, the press room, the dressing room and the pitch side. The Loire Département has recognised the museum as a “site majeur” of the area. It also hosts school visits, children’s birthday parties and private events.
