About the museum
The Musée du Souvenir is located on the second floor of the Maison des Combattants, passage de l’Ancienne Mairie, in Villefranche-sur-Saône. It is devoted to the memory of the two World Wars, the liberation of the town and the wars in Indochina and Algeria, and in particular recalls the participation of Villefranche residents in these conflicts.
The route includes two exhibition rooms. Display cases present objects related to the fighting of the last war, mostly from the town. Texts, maps, paintings and photographs illustrate the account of the war.
