About the museum
The Musée municipal d’Ernée is located on Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, in a building dating from 1823. It has carried the “Musée de France” designation since 2003.
The collections are devoted to archaeology from prehistory to the Middle Ages. They highlight the Gallo-Roman tile kilns of the region and the Contrie passage grave, a monument from the late 3rd millennium BC. According to the city, the museum is a reference in archaeology and complements a visit to the town’s two passage graves, La Contrie and La Tardivière.
