About the museum
The Altlandtechnik Museum in Klein Upahl near Güstrow goes back to the founding of the Mecklenburg heritage association "Am Upahler See" in 1991. From the early days, the association collected old agricultural implements and household objects from rural life to bring the village's past closer to visitors.
Later, a new community center with a large event hall and small offices was built in the village; the heritage association runs its museum in this building. According to the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the collection comprises around 1,000 exhibits from the time before 1945.
A highlight of the association's life was a museum day under the motto "A Day of Grain," at which many historic harvesting machines were demonstrated.
