About the museum
The small "Hausenhäusl" with its flower balcony houses the local history museum of Reit im Winkl. It shows how a day laborer lived in the village just over 100 years ago: in the kitchen ("Kuchel"), the best parlor, the bedroom, and a weaving room where the production of linen is explained. Another room is set up as a shoemaker's workshop and is regarded as the highlight of the tour.
At present the museum is only accessible as part of the guided museum walk through the village, which is offered by the outdoor team of the Tourist Information.
