About the museum

The Museumsstellmacherei in Langenrehm preserves the workshop and house of the Peters craftsman family as they were used around 1930. The workshop is completely intact, and all of its roughly hundred-year-old machines still run.

Together with the historically furnished living house and the sawmill, the workshop forms a listed ensemble. It shows how wheels, carts, and wagons were once built and repaired, and how a wheelwright's family lived in the countryside.

The house is a satellite site of the Kiekeberg Open-Air Museum. During the season, volunteer woodworkers demonstrate the machines and explain their craft.
